Facilities Technician (Tues - Sat 10am - 6:30pm)

About the role

Seeking a talented Facilities Technician capable of performing various types of maintenance and repair activities. This role involves general office maintenance work, including moving furniture, repairing building equipment, ordering supplies, and coordinating office moves. Reports to the Sr Manager of Facilities.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance of office
• Handling of hazardous material waste
• Set up the kitchen every morning
• Record and inspect generators weekly
• Inspect fire extinguishers once a month
• Inspect eye wash and showers weekly
• Ordering office supplies
• Conduct ergonomic assessments
• Vendor management
• Office move, add, and change coordination
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Use power tools, calibration equipment, and small hand tools for repairs
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Handle overtime tasks and on-call emergencies
• Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests
• Accept new tasks or projects as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3-4 years of facility work experience (5 years preferred)
• Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Flexibility and positive adaptability to change
• Strong communication skills and teamwork
• Demonstrate curiosity, sound judgment, and ability to evaluate AI-enabled tools responsibly

Schedule

Must be available to work onsite Tuesday–Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Hybrid work model: Employees within 50 miles of a Guardant facility are required to be onsite Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for collaboration, with flexibility for remote work on other days.

Pay

Annualized base salary ranges:

• Primary Location (Redwood City, CA): $27 – $37 per hour
• Other U.S. Locations: $23 – $32 per hour
• Colorado: $24 – $33 per hour

Compensation is based on geography, experience, education, skills, job duties, and business need. This range does not include benefits, bonuses, commissions, or equity.

Work Environment

• Majority of work performed in a desk/office environment
• May involve exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard materials in laboratory settings
• Ability to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment
• Extended periods of sitting may be required
