Facilities Technician III

Join a team that helps power the UW-Green Bay experience. As a Facilities Technician III, you will play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and improving our campuses through skilled construction, remodeling, preventative maintenance, and facility repair work.
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
- Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
- Performs skilled building maintenance, construction, and remodeling work, including repairing facilities and furnishings, directing project staff, estimating and ordering materials, and installing or repairing drywall, paint, ceilings, flooring, and other building components to commercial standards
- Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
- Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent at time of application
- 2 years of experience in carpentry or commercial maintenance area
- Must have knowledge of mechanical and building repairs
- Thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety methods used in the performance of job
- Basic computer skills including the knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
- Associates degree or 5 years work experience in the commercial or industrial area
- Proficient in all aspects of the carpentry and maintenance fields
- Experience in common cause of mechanical failures, structural and mechanical diagnostic and repair procedures
- Knowledge and experience welding and metal cutting tasks
- Strong organization skills and ability to effectively prioritize workloads and maintain accurate records
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Skills
Physical strength and stamina to perform required work including being able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and work on feet for long periods of time. Ability to climb and work at considerable heights and/or in confined spaces under adverse conditions.
Benefits
Compensation: Minimum compensation of $24.00. This position will earn an additional $0.80 per hour for all weekend hours worked, as well as for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. This position is not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Pay

Schedule
This position is full-time and works 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday on the Green Bay campus.
