Facilities Technician
About the role
Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, you will provide onsite maintenance and repair of building equipment and systems to ensure 24/7 facility access to a clean, safe working environment that supports the ZOLL Corporate Mission.
Responsibilities
- Performs troubleshooting, preventive & corrective maintenance of building equipment and systems on time and in an appropriate manner; documents work utilizing a work order system.
- Evaluates equipment performance and recommends improvements to maintenance program and system design.
- Assists external service providers/contractors responsible for building equipment and systems when necessary.
- Independently applies skills, experience, and general knowledge to troubleshoot, adjust, install, repair, replace, and maintain equipment or facilities.
- Available for and responds to unscheduled, emergency, on-call, after-hour situations (e.g., floods, roof leaks, storm emergencies).
- Develops and maintains spare parts inventory.
- Orders products, supplies, and other materials as needed for routine operation of equipment and systems.
- Ensures quality of work and provides in-house expertise.
- Works independently and participates in mandatory education and/or training.
- Works on special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least five years of experience in a similar role required.
- Good working knowledge of building repairs and safe, efficient use of power and hand tools.
- Experience with JCI Metasys Building Management System required.
- Experience with computers and Microsoft Office required.
- Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), or Building Automation Systems (BAS) required.
- Demonstrated abilities or evidence of training in repair, operation, and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment (preferred but not required).
- Ability to climb a ladder, reach, bend, and lift loads up to 50 lbs. independently (more with assistance).
- Valid driver’s license; required to carry a cell phone and be on-call to support building operations.

- Solid communication skills to effectively deal with various levels of management, staff, and outside contractors.
Pay
The hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00 to $30.00. Factors which may affect this rate include shift, geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
