About the role
The Facilities Mechanic oversees the operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment and performs general facility maintenance. Key responsibilities include monitoring equipment performance, implementing improvement programs, and performing various maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electric order pickers, electric reach trucks, and propane forklifts
- Ensure all warehouse equipment and systems, including conveyor systems, ASRS, and facilities, operate optimally
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical equipment and devices
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and systems
- Assemble and install equipment, cabinetry, appliances, and furniture
- Repair roofs, ceiling tiles, floors, partitions, windows, doors, plumbing, drywall, and paint
- Maintain parts inventory and order parts as needed
- Attend shop meetings and utilize personal tools
- Resolve equipment issues using specifications, manuals, blueprints, schematics, and ladder diagrams
- Maintain a safe working environment adhering to OSHA regulations, company policies, and procedures
- Comply with company rules and regulations as outlined in the employee manual
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in similar roles
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite and/or software applications
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Forklift operating experience or certification preferred
Qualifications
- Physical demands include frequent sitting, operating a motor vehicle, and considerable time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater and lifting/pushing up to 48 lbs
- This position is considered safety-sensitive
