About the Role

The Facility Technician is part of the Facilities Engineering team, providing building maintenance services to Renown Health. This hands-on role involves preventive and corrective maintenance on a broad array of buildings and systems equipment, as well as first response to minor trouble calls from various departments. The position may also assist journeyman-level trades as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Respond rapidly to customer concerns, investigating conditions and applying adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Oversee and administer a site-specific Preventative Maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including relocating/replacing thermostats, changing filters, and replacing relays or fuses in Roof Top Units.
  • Conduct electrical repairs, such as changing fluorescent ballasts, 120v receptacles, replacing electric motors, and identifying/replacing lamps for fixtures.
  • Reset and adjust time clocks and controls for various building systems.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, including fixing faucets, unclogging traps and toilets, adjusting flush valves, and maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Apply ADA standards as directed by a supervisor.
  • Adhere to OSHA Safety Standards and read blueprints accurately.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.
  • Report systems or problems requiring journeyman or contractor repair to the Supervisor.
  • May serve on the Facilities Safety Committee.

This position does not provide patient care.

Requirements

  • Working-level knowledge of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Minimum three years of experience in a maintenance trade, with basic knowledge of electrical, air-conditioning, plumbing, and structural repairs preferred.
  • Valid State of Nevada or California Driver’s license and ability to pass Renown Health’s Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.
  • Must possess, or obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements, access forms/policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and apply OSHA Safety Standards.
  • Skill to perform jobs without direct supervision.
  • Adherence to Renown Health Standards of Conduct.
