Facilities Technician

About the Role

Facilities Technician responsible for repairing and maintaining buildings and facilities, utilizing expertise for diagnosis and emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

• Provides preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
• Conducts routine or periodic inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
• Acts as leader for less-skilled assistants.
• Consults with engineers and vendors.
• Performs and oversees maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding.
• Oversees routine maintenance and cleaning duties of break rooms, coffee stations, bathroom checks, hangar, and office areas.
• Maintains and cleans, when necessary, the grounds, gardens, and buildings.
• Assists with furniture set-up and office assembly/removal, including setting up tables, cabinets, chairs, and shelves for conferences and meetings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Generally, at least 3 to 5 years of experience in Facilities Maintenance.
• Experience in infrastructure maintenance activities including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, welding, assembly, set-up, and removal of furniture.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities within their technical area.
• Skills broadly applied in multiple technical areas.
• Maintenance techniques related to carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding.
• Professional driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of facilities.
• Some knowledge of office software (Excel and Word), internet explorer, and Lotus Notes.
• Familiarity with ENS system, company policies, and procedures.

Working Conditions

• Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
• Physical activity requirements:
  • Frequent: Standing, walking, lifting, carrying (up to 50 lbs), pushing (up to 50 lbs), pulling (up to 50 lbs), climbing, kneeling.
  • Occasional: Crawling, reaching, sitting.
  • Other: Driving.
