Job Summary
The Facilities Systems & Communications Manager blends technical expertise with public communications, overseeing the campus-wide Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and the lifecycle management of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Safety (MEPS) assets. In addition to managing critical building systems data and maintenance workflows, this position will be responsible for maintaining timely and accurate facilities information on the department's webpage and social media platforms—ensuring our campus community stays informed about maintenance schedules, safety updates, and operational projects. This position may require occasional evening or weekend work for emergencies or urgent communications.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the CMMS database, ensuring accurate records of MEPS assets and maintenance activities;
- Train staff on CMMS use and data accuracy best practices;
- Oversee the call center employees (staff and student employees), oversee intake, prioritization, and assignment of maintenance work requests;
- Supervise and schedule student call center assistants;
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend asset lifespan and reduce downtime;
- Generate performance reports and analyze data to support budgeting and strategic decision-making;
- Generate operational reports for department leadership, monitor performance metrics and recommend improvements;
- Maintain current and accurate content on the Facilities Management webpage;
- Maintain Social media content; Create and post timely, clear, and professional updates on social media regarding maintenance activities, outages, and safety notices.
Required Qualifications
- 4 Year / Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Management of Information Systems, Communications, or a related field;
- 4 years of relevant experience;
- 1 year supervisory (overseeing programs, people, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing a CMMS and MEPS asset portfolio, ideally in a higher education or large institutional setting;
- Familiarity with building systems regulations is a plus.
Proposed Salary
45,300 - 56,600
Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proven ability to create and manage professional social media and website content;
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Safety systems;
- Proficiency with CMMS software, data reporting tools, and content management systems (CMS);
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
