About the Role
The Facilities Support Manager supervises department employees and coordinates all Singing River Health System renovation and construction requirements, including assigned Health System projects and grounds maintenance. This role works under the direction of the Director of Facilities Support to ensure projects are completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
Responsibilities
- Supervise department employees, including Plant Operator, HVAC, Electrician, Plumber, Groundskeeper, and Contractors.
- Coordinate renovation and construction projects for Singing River Health System.
- Ensure projects are completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
- Read, interpret, and explain blueprints related to renovation and construction to subordinates.
- Maintain familiarity with national and local codes controlling construction and repairs.
- Utilize computer-based building control systems (direct digital control) and computerized preventative maintenance programs.
- Travel throughout the SRHS service area as required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Completion of an approved technical trade school preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in commercial or industrial electrical, mechanical construction, or maintenance.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ managerial experience in a maintenance or similar vocation.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Must complete de-escalation training by the end of position orientation (90 days).

- Ability to multi-task in complex situations with keen attention to detail.
- Collaborative and respectful working relationships across SRHS and other organizations.
Physical Demands
- Moderately active work involving sitting, moving about the office and facility, and traveling within the SRHS service area.
- Frequent requirement to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body.
- Exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues, which may carry infectious disease hazards.
- Repetitive motions, such as using a computer keyboard or other office equipment.
- Ability to perceive sound at normal speaking levels and make fine discriminations in sound.
- Close visual acuity to shift focus between computer monitors and printed materials.
- Ability to remain active for extended periods without undue fatigue.
- Flexibility to work assigned schedules, including off days, shifts, or weekends as needed by the hospital.
