About the Role

Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Site Manager to drive preventive maintenance programs and optimize facility operations. This role involves managing substantial budgets, supervising critical infrastructure repairs, and implementing sustainable practices to reduce costs while maintaining high safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and System Optimization: Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) programs to extend asset lifecycles and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Lifecycle Asset Management: Monitor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to lead long-term capital replacement planning.
  • Process Automation: Leverage facility management software (CMMS) to streamline work orders, improve response times, and track maintenance KPIs.
  • Operational Oversight: Conduct routine walkthroughs to ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Infrastructure Reliability: Direct daily maintenance, repair, and improvement of building systems, including HVAC, fire/life safety, and power distribution.
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Source, negotiate, and manage third-party service contracts, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure facility compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Budgetary Stewardship: Manage the facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities through energy efficiency and strategic sourcing.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a multidisciplinary team, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and safety training.
  • Resource Allocation: Analyze facility data and utility trends to optimize resource consumption and support sustainability goals.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain positive client relationships and understand partnership dynamics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Facility Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or eight years of industrial facilities maintenance experience (considered equivalent).
  • 5+ years of facility operations/maintenance experience, including supervisory roles in a technical field.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing, subcontract/vendor management, and CMMS software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and experience creating/delivering presentations.
  • Staff management experience, including hiring, termination, disciplinary action, and performance appraisals.
  • Experience in metrics creation, data mining, and predictive maintenance (e.g., infrared scanning, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, oil analysis).
  • Budget management and contract negotiation experience.
  • Experience in new business start-ups.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or training from organizations like IFMA, AFE, or BOMA.
  • Experience in GMP or similarly regulated environments.
  • Vibration Analysis Training/Certification or CMRP/STS certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive wrist movement and extensive walking throughout facilities.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and bend/stretch/kneel as needed.
  • Color differentiation for wire coding and reading documents/computer screens.
  • Use of office equipment (e.g., keyboards, phones) and interaction with clients under stress.
  • Light to medium material handling (e.g., filing, storage).
  • On-site meetings, local travel, and occasional air travel.

Special Requirements

  • Wear PPE (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats) as required.
  • Ability to manage job-related stressors while maintaining performance.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Pay

$100,000–$105,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
