Facilities Services Lead
Supervise daily interior cleaning of the building, including emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, cleaning and restocking restrooms, washing walls, polishing, mopping floors, cleaning up spills, placing down mats/runners in inclement weather, cleaning windows and window coverings, and other tasks in accordance with established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assign tasks and inspect building areas to ensure work is completed properly.
- Issue supplies and equipment; conduct inventory to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Conduct or assist with screening, hiring, and training of job applicants; perform performance reviews and make recommendations on promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
- Prepare and present reports on room occupancy, hours worked, staff assignments, tasks performed, and department expenses.
- Supervise and assist with exterior building and premises cleaning, including snow removal, basic maintenance of exterior walls, windows, parking lots, walkways, gardens, lawns, pools/spas, and other areas.
- Assign staff to assist with minor maintenance and repair work, such as painting, replacing light bulbs and fixtures, moving furniture, repairing doors and gates, minor landscaping, and simple plumbing repairs.
- Supervise or perform additional duties as needed, including gardening, lawn care, outdoor furnishings maintenance, inventory control, supply ordering, snow removal, and assisting with tenant moves.
- Respond promptly to spills, emergency situations, and building/facility repairs; notify management of issues such as broken equipment, damaged structures, plumbing problems, HVAC issues, and safety concerns.
- Ensure safe operation of cleaning equipment, snow removal tools, power tools, and chemical agents through proper training and usage to avoid harm to floors, fixtures, individuals, and the environment.
- Maintain and organize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for cleaning products and materials; ensure staff is trained on Hazard Communication Program and uses appropriate safety gear (e.g., eye protection, gloves, aprons).
- Dispose of cleaning agents and chemicals in an environmentally friendly manner, following SDS guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably at the supervisory level.
- Experience in janitorial leadership, facilities services, light maintenance, industrial cleaning, or building operations.
- Supervisory or lead experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or commercial facility.
- Experience with floor care equipment, cleaning chemicals, PPE, basic tools, safety procedures, work order systems, and client-facing facility support.

Work Environment
This role operates in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, commercial, or client facility environment. Work may involve standard office equipment, frequent movement throughout assigned interior and exterior areas, and exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, odors, cleaning chemicals, equipment traffic, and outdoor weather conditions.
Pay
$19.55 - $23.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
