Facilities Project Manager
Role Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and future growth of Rowan's office footprint and flexible workspaces. This role requires hands-on experience in a high-growth startup environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day facility operations, including maintenance, cleaning, office supplies, and vendor contracts.
Coordinate space planning and office space take-down for all Rowan offices, including Denver (HQ), Seattle, and other emerging areas.
Develop and maintain a space utilization plan, including floor plans, desk assignments, and neighborhood/team allocations.
Partner with leadership and People Ops on headcount projections to ensure space planning stays ahead of growth.
Manage all aspects of necessary office expansions.
Maintain all facilities meeting safety, compliance, and accessibility standards (ADA, fire, OSHA).
Coordinate with IT on all facilities-related technology infrastructure: network cabling, Wi-Fi coverage, badge access, and building systems.
Oversee building access control systems (badging, visitor management) and maintain accurate access records.
Manage and continuously improve facilities technology tools — space booking software, desk reservation systems as the office grows.
Maintain a complete, accurate inventory of all office furniture, equipment, and physical assets.
Track asset lifecycles — procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal — and recommend refresh cycles.
Partner with Finance on facilities budget tracking, capital expenditure planning, and cost forecasting for any expansions.
Review and assess all invoices relating to office spaces to ensure accuracy and tracking against the budget.
Manage procurement of office supplies, furniture, and equipment; negotiate vendor contracts to optimize cost and quality.
Own the facilities roadmap for the expansion to 50k sq ft, including phasing, vendor selection, and construction coordination.
Proactively identify risks and propose solutions before they become problems — leases, capacity constraints, vendor gaps.
Work with the Safety and Compliance teams to ensure all spaces are consistent with Rowan’s principles and standards for EHS.
Build relationships with internal stakeholders (IT, HR, Finance, Legal) to ensure facilities decisions are well-integrated across the business.
Education, Skills, And Experience
5+ years of facilities management or office operations experience, ideally in a high-growth company environment.
Demonstrated experience managing a physical expansion or build-out — not just steady-state operations.
Comfortable owning vendor relationships end-to-end: RFPs, contract negotiation, performance management.
Familiarity with facilities technology platforms (e.g., Skedda or similar) and AV/IT coordination.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — you keep thorough records and nothing slips.
Effective communicator who can work across functions and explain facilities needs to non-technical stakeholders.
Proactive, self-directed problem solver — you find issues before they escalate and own them through resolution.
Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) sufficient to triage issues and manage vendors.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional environment.
Nice to Have
CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or FMP credential.
Experience with LEED-certified or sustainability-focused office environments.
Prior experience supporting a company through a significant real estate transaction (e.g. new lease).
Familiarity with Colorado building codes and permitting processes.
