About the role
HSS, the world leader in musculoskeletal health, is seeking a Facilities Planner I to support the continued strategic growth of the organization. As demand for HSS services expands, this role will contribute to the enterprise space management strategy, support the development of new regional locations, and transform the main campus. As a member of the Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) team, you will manage the Space, Reservation, and Move modules within the HSS Archibus Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS), ensuring accurate space data, streamlined scheduling, and seamless coordination of moves. This role will also support a workplace planning initiative to evolve HSS into a more modern, agile organization through forward-thinking workplace models. Additionally, you will oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of physical signage across the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Human Resources, Operational Excellence, Information Technology, and external vendors and consultants.
Responsibilities
- Manage the HSS Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS)
- Maintain up-to-date floor plans and space assignments
- Provide support in coordinating and managing reservation activities
- Assist in the creation of a framework for a formal space committee
- Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of physical signage across the organization
- Coordinate with leadership to implement new workplace strategies and develop space allocation plans utilizing workspace data
- Liaise with departmental managers to determine space requirements
- Assist in the development of signage guidelines
- Support the coordination and management of external consultants such as signage and IWMS vendors
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (e.g., BA, BS, BSN, BSW) in Architectural, Business, Healthcare, or related professional field
- 2-5 years of experience in space planning, workplace, and healthcare preferred
Skills
- Full working knowledge of software including Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Previous experience with Archibus preferable
- Able to translate complex, multi-dimensional ideas to paper
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and multi-task
- Critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems
- Effective communicator, capable of tailoring messages to different audiences
- Able to work effectively when the way forward is not obvious, resilient in recovering from setbacks, and skilled at finding detours around obstacles
