About the Role
Provide painting and other surface restoration services to interior and exterior surfaces throughout the facility. Work involves performing wall, ceiling, and flooring preparation and restoration utilizing a variety of techniques and tools to apply paints and other surface materials/products as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, schedule, and perform all painting work that comes in through the work request system.
- Work directly with supervisor or other Facilities leaders to plan, coordinate, and prioritize other preparation/restoration work that is identified and approved to schedule.
- Perform restoration and minor construction work such as flooring installations, ceiling tile/grid replacements, wall finish work (e.g., wallpaper), and other removals and installation of equipment mounted in building areas.
- Communicate and update facilities leaders and customers regarding task status, work schedule adjustments, issues or concerns, and any other changes that may impact the task/project.
- Utilize tools and equipment such as paint mixers, power drills/saws, paint sprayer equipment, power wash equipment, and other tools necessary to complete tasks professionally.
- Provide support and problem-solving techniques to assist other trade fields as needed for successful completion of work assignments.
- Read, interpret, and understand OEM manuals, specifications, and product data sheets to apply finishes or perform minor restoration/construction work safely and professionally.
- Apply basic knowledge of codes and regulations related to construction/restoration to complete assigned tasks compliantly.
- Assist other team members during utility/equipment shutdowns to complete tasks/projects.
- Assist department leadership in managing work activities as assigned.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with ICRA, PICRA safety plans, lockout/tag-out, confined space, MSDS, and other regulatory programs (e.g., JCAHO, State, OSHA, NEC, SOC).
- Report all unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.
- Document all work performed and training received (or given).
- Communicate with departmental and interdepartmental staff as required.
- Attend meetings and in-services as scheduled; keep logs and records of work up to date.
- Maintain expense budgets within established guidelines.
- Requisition supplies and materials following purchasing and department-specific procedures.
- Maintain documentation of building finishes and painting standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of painting experience preferred, with a concentration in finish work.
- Experience and knowledge in all areas of painting and surface preparation.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand OEM manuals, specifications, and product data sheets.
- Basic knowledge of construction/restoration codes and regulations.
Physical Requirements
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
Pay
Pay range: $19.75 - $25.06 per hour.
