Responsibilities

  • Supervise all facilities & maintenance staff (Including W2 & 1099 oversight, as applicable)
  • Daily checks and maintenance of facilities within all departments. This includes, but is not limited to, plumbing & electrical distribution systems, water treatment & wastewater treatment systems, incinerator and garbage disposal systems, refrigeration systems, framing & finish carpentry, painting, flooring, siding, roofing, and gutter systems
  • Maintaining inventory and stock of facilities related items
  • Progress Reporting

Qualifications

  • Experience - Whaler’s Cove Lodge is a remote island resort that must provide all services and be self-sufficient. To this end, the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Lead must have a well-rounded knowledge of the building trades, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry (foundations to finish carpentry).
  • Dates of Employment - Be available for the entire season from approximately June 1 through the end of September. We prefer to hire team members who would like to return for multiple seasons.
  • Professionalism - We require our employees to present themselves in a professional manner with both dress and attitude, and to be courteous. We always have guests at the lodge: from June into September. Candidates should be healthy, physically fit, maintain a clean appearance, and drug-free. Anyone who cannot maintain themselves in a professional manner regarding alcohol consumption need not apply
  • Staff Management – The Facilities Operations & Maintenance Lead will be expected to supervise one to three staff depending on the daily schedule.
