FACILITIES MGMT MANAGER

Archbold Medical Center is a four-hospital, four-nursing-home health system with 540 patient beds, employing more than 2,500 people and boasting an outstanding medical staff of nearly 200 qualified physician specialists.

Education Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited technical school or equivalent with major in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, electronics, and refrigeration.

Experience

• Ten years' experience in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical trades.

Responsibilities

• Directs, manages, and supervises the PMI (Preventive Maintenance Inspection) program.
• Coordinates demand and PMI maintenance work at assigned facilities.
• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, informs, and controls activities for Facility Maintenance services.
• Manages repairs, installations, and maintenance of the Facilities Department to ensure a safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation.
• Assumes responsibility for technical, educational, and training activities for staff.
• Demonstrates effective communication with facility managers.
• Ensures compliance with State, Federal, and JCAHO standards of safety in assigned areas.
• Exercises good engineering practices in performing duties.
• Prepares, completes, and submits employee evaluations to the Director prior to the due date.

Requirements

• Knowledge of maintenance in plumbing, electrical, minor electronics and controls, heating/ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), general carpentry, and general maintenance on ceilings, floors, wall repairs, doors, and door hardware.
• Good working knowledge of JCAHO requirements and understanding of the Life Safety code.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and Facility Technicians.
• Good physical and mental dexterity.
• Approved safe driving record.
• Able to climb ladders and lift necessary tools.
