About the role

This role supports a new factory startup in Prince George, VA manufacturing large form-factor equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the core factory startup and onboarding team
  • Building the operations and manufacturing staff
  • Fitting out the building and creating process flow/work instructions

Responsibilities

Manage the design, planning, construction and maintenance of facilities equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.

  • Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications
  • Design and develop site policies relevant to the facilities department
  • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout
  • Manage all facilities uptime requirements, building management systems, and facilities maintenance system
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in assembly processes
  • Manage capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation

Requirements

Recruit, interview, and hire for the Environmental, Health, Facilities and Safety team.

  • Monitor team member turnover
  • Identify key factors for improving turnover
  • Create and/or validate training curriculum
  • Coach and mentor Facilities team members
  • Create and manage succession plans for the Facilities function

Qualifications

Lead and manage a team of facilities and manufacturing engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for facility layout, design, and infrastructure development
  • Enable facilities for future warehouse automation, material handling systems, or industrial robotics
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in assembly processes
  • Manage capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex engineering challenges
  • Support the evaluation and selection of new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions

Skills

Recruitment and retention: Recruit, interview, and hire for the Environmental, Health, Facilities and Safety team.

  • Communicate criteria to recruiters for the Environmental, Health, Facilities and Safety team
  • Coach Facilities and staff in the interviewing/hiring process if required
  • Maintain a high turnover rate
  • Identify key factors that can be improved
  • Make improvements

Benefits

The pay range for this role is $98,200 - $176,800. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.

Schedule
