FACILITIES MANAGER

We are looking for a hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee building systems, maintenance projects, and vendor contracts while ensuring a safe, compliant, and problem-free work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the annual maintenance budget for review by the local board.
• Manage buildings, grounds, and systems—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life-safety, security, emergency generator, roofs, gutters, exterior lighting, parking lots, landscaping, pest control, and windows—to ensure smooth, problem-free operation.
• Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and contractors.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds.
• Source and evaluate price quotes for labor, materials, and replacement parts for all maintenance and repair projects.
• Manage inventory and purchase of electrical supplies, lighting, kitchen equipment, appliances, tools, and other necessary items.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs, including door hardware, basic electrical (lamps, sockets), office installations, carpentry, and water-filter replacements.
• Oversee maintenance contracts for landscaping, HVAC, life-safety systems, elevators, copiers/printers, document shredding, and janitorial services.
• Issue and store keys.
• Ensure outgoing mail is delivered to courier or post office.
• Maintain administrative processes for the facilities role.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with food vendors.
• Oversee the waste management and recycling program.
• Support the IT team by assisting end users with computer hardware, peripherals, and communication devices.
• Facilitate staff meetings by setting up and operating required technology and systems.
• Seek God’s guidance through prayer and meditation for the organization and specific ministry initiatives.
• Participate in and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship as part of your role.
• Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events.
• Model empathy, humility, and care for all people, promoting equity and inclusion in faith expression.
• Actively participate in fundraising activities, including inviting contacts to events, recruiting donors, and personally ministering to donor relationships.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or related fields (e.g., residential/commercial construction, general contracting). Additional education may substitute for some experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trade methods and techniques (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Hands-on experience performing minor repairs and maintenance, such as painting, door hardware, light carpentry, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and analyzing RFPs/vendor bids.
• Ability to track expenses and work within a budget.
• Basic IT helpdesk skills (Tier 1 support).
• Must be available for on-call duties to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems to resolution.
• Must have a car and a valid California driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
