Facilities Manager

About the Role
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and functionality of Mission Ridge facilities, buildings, grounds, and supporting utility systems. This position oversees facilities staff and contractors while coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, regulatory testing, and capital improvement projects. The Facilities Manager also manages departmental staffing and budgets, ensures compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations, and supports daily resort operations as needed. This role requires a hands-on leader with broad knowledge of building trades, facility systems, and year-round mountain operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of all Mission Ridge properties and associated buildings, water collection, treatment, and distribution
- Sewer collection and treatment, electrical distribution and repair, security and fire system maintenance, landscaping, and sign making
- Monthly testing of drinking water submitted and quarterly testing of treatment plant submitted to testing agency, as well as daily testing of drinking water onsite
- Interview, hire, train, and supervise facility staff
- Maintain staff schedules to meet operational demands while ensuring a high level of guest service
- Develop and adjust departmental budgets to meet operational needs
- Operation and capital budgeting for facilities personnel, supplies, and projects
- Garbage collection, recycling, building and grounds snow removal, propane dispensation and recording, and general housekeeping
- Maintain properties within guidelines set forth by city, county, state, or federal agencies (A.D.A., D.O.H., E.P.A., D.O.E., W.I.S.H.A., O.S.H.A., and adherence to City and County Fire Codes)
- Working knowledge of regulatory agencies as they pertain to reporting and adherence to environmental, water, sewer, and building issues
- Review bids for contract work and oversee projects related to facilities
- Assist parking crew with parking procedures and parking areas; assist guests with locked vehicles, dead batteries, shuttle services, etc.
Requirements
- High School Graduate and minimum of 4 years in a construction-related field or 2 years of college degree and/or 4 years of experience in trades
- Preferred background in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, concrete, equipment operation, motor controls, and all hand tools
- Written and verbal command of the English language
- Computer and documentation skills
- Valid and insurable Washington State Driver’s License (CDL recommended)
- Ability to work holidays, weekends, and nights

Physical Demands
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working with hand and power tools. The Facilities Manager must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and, on occasion, assist with heavier items of up to 80 pounds. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, on uneven terrain, around machinery, and in confined or elevated work areas. The position also requires sufficient vision, hearing, coordination, and manual dexterity to safely inspect facilities, operate equipment, perform repairs, and respond to operational needs.
Work Environment
Mission Ridge is a non-smoking facility. Weekend and holiday work may be required, including extended hours, due to the seasonal nature of the ski industry. Because operations are dependent on weather and seasonality, Mission Ridge is an at-will employer, and all employees may experience reduced hours or layoffs.
