About the role
Join the cutting-edge team at DRS RADA Technologies in Germantown, MD as a full-time, on-site Facilities Manager. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will support and strengthen the evolving needs of the business unit in an aerospace or defense industry facility.
Responsibilities
- Manage an Aerospace and Defense facility for production, maintenance, and repair of company buildings, equipment, machinery, and grounds.
- Plan, schedule, and direct staff of in-house employees and external contractors in the maintenance of company buildings, equipment, and machinery.
- Develop and maintain an operating budget to ensure cost-effective maintenance.
- Ensure facilities remain operational 24x7.
- Manage regular maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, security, and safety-related equipment.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual inspection process for equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Direct building renovation, ensuring projects stay within budget and conform to company specifications; obtain and prepare cost estimates; coordinate construction, remodeling, and repair projects; inspect completed work.
- Coordinate and manage insurance, service contract requirements, and associated vendors.
- Assure accurate and up-to-date space-management and project-tracking documentation.
- Resolve and investigate facility security-related issues; develop an incident report system.
- Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with facility security efforts in accordance with corporate standards and regulations.
- Keep upper management apprised of developments or problems that may interfere with production or cause property loss.
- Collaborate with other corporate departments on facility-related problems.
- Mentor staff by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals.
- Establish, implement, and monitor methods to ensure quality and low cost.
- Develop and manage Emergency Contingency Planning.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Assist management with special projects and assignments as requested.
- Support business plans, acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of aerospace and defense (A&D) facilities experience, including production, active warehouse, and offices.
- Experience in CAPEX equipment management: budget, tracking, and execution.
- Working knowledge of processing equipment, electrical power systems, HVAC systems, and controls.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience working with subcontractors.
- Experience navigating landlord relations (and lease contracts), municipal regulations, and fire department compliance.
- Proven “hands-on” leadership and people skills.
- Detail-oriented, time, and cost-conscious.
- Demonstrated skills in facility engineering.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $107,089.00–$144,570.00. This range reflects the employer’s good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as federal contract labor categories, geographic location, business considerations, scope of responsibilities, and candidate qualifications including prior work experience, skills, education, and certifications.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable).
