Facilities Manager

About the role

Serves as the business unit facility leader in planning and developing facilities and new construction. Directs projects (e.g. site repairs/construction, preventive maintenance, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring completion within established time frames, project design and budget. Exercises optimal utilization of personnel and other resources.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, NFPA, NEX, LS, and elevators
• Oversees contractors for facility renovation projects entailing HVAC, electrical systems, and production floor arrangement
• Inspects new construction, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently
• Ensures specifications for major capital improvements are within local/state/federal regulations
• Approves inspection reports and payment requests
• Deep understanding of industry maintenance coding

• Key Relationships: Facility Manager for Offsite Properties, Nursing, Dept of Public Safety, EVS

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical or business discipline is required or equivalent years of experience
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Requires an in depth knowledge of hazardous material management, NFPA Life Safety Code, State Fire Marshall and NFPA 99 requirements
• Requires comprehensive understanding of codes and regulations associated with maintenance utility operation including the requirements of the JCAHO, SDOH, OSHA, and other federal, state and local agencies
• Requires a minimum of 3 years relevant experience leading teams
• Requires 5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical or other utility systems

Schedule

Fully onsite role Monday-Friday day shift at Fort Wayne Hospital.
