About the role
The Facilities Manager supervises the facility location and all departments within it. This role requires a working knowledge of each department's functions to the level of being able to train or fill in for tasks. The position serves as a primary contact for both customers and other PTA/CTOS facilities, ensuring high-level customer service and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, and make top-level decisions for service and distribution departments within the facility.
- Provide professional customer service and support as the primary point of contact for employees and customers.
- Ensure compliance with company processes, procedures, and ASTM/OSHA standards.
- Maintain regular communication with department leads to meet expectations.
- Supervise and occasionally participate in shipping and receiving, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of materials.
- Collaborate with the sales team to drive business growth.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through visits to existing and potential customers.
- Ensure accuracy of paperwork (purchase orders, prints) and entry into the ERP system.
- Collaborate with accounting and purchasing to ensure prompt vendor payments.
- Maintain documentation for vendor AP invoice verification.
- Ensure compliance with all inventory-related activities, including cycle count programs.
- Assist with weekly employee timekeeping as needed.
- Maintain the location schedule.
Requirements
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on non-verbal customer interactions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to interpret operational data and exchange accurate information.
- Understanding and experience in the following areas:
- Rubber Goods Testing: Knowledge of rubber test lab operations, including testing of gloves, sleeves, blankets, line hose, hoods, and boots. Familiarity with ASTM standards for safety.
- Fiberglass Tool & Equipment Restoration: Experience in restoring shotguns, hot arms, link sticks, and telescoping sticks.
- Ground & Jumper Cable Testing/Manufacturing: Knowledge of cable testing and manufacturing environments, including ASTM standards.
- Tool Repair & Maintenance: Experience in repairing and restoring hydraulic, gas, battery, or fiberglass tools according to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and experience in inventory management.
- Experience in warehousing, shipping, and receiving.
- Knowledge of accounting and purchasing to ensure proper vendor payment.
- Strong background in math.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with sales and quotations.
- Experience in the repair or maintenance of the following tools is helpful:
- Breakers, Capstan Hoists, Compression Tools, Dies, Crimpers, Cutters (Cables, Wire, Bolt), Demolition Hammer & Accessories, Dynamometers, Electric Drills, Impacts, Generators, Ground Rod Drivers, Hydraulic Cutters, Presses, Bucket Tools, Load Break/Pickup Tools, Meters & Testers, Phase & Sequence Testers, Pole Bits and Pullers, Power Units, Press Heads, Ratchet Cable Cutters, Saws (Chain, Hand, Pruning), Shovels, Tamps, Scoops, Sign Post Drivers, Strippers & Scoring Tools, Swivels, Tampers, Traffic Control Signs, Trash Pumps, Tree Trimming Tools (Trimmer & Bushing-ACSR), Torque and Impact Wrenches.
Working Conditions
- Scheduled hours: 7:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with additional hours/days as needed to meet business demands.
- Majority of work performed in a warehouse setting.
- Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes may occur.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
