About the role

The Facilities Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility(ies) or campus, ensuring compliance with policies and client directives. They manage contracts, oversee maintenance programs, respond to tenant needs, and prepare budgets and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure day-to-day operations of facilities, including custodial, life-safety, engineering, site services, and general maintenance.
  • Manage contracts and ensure they are reviewed and bid out as necessary; verify invoices against contract pricing.
  • Oversee maintenance programs and respond to tenant needs.
  • Implement ongoing contract programs to assess and solve tenant and occupant needs.
  • Prepare and review budgets, financial reports, and contracts.
  • Aid in the development of capital budgets for the property.
  • Hire, train, and motivate facility personnel; conduct performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with insurance requirements and claims management.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data for facility management objectives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of commercial high-rise, campus environment, and/or property portfolio management experience.
  • Experience in leasing, construction, engineering, and property operations.
  • Experience with critical system environments and cost reduction initiatives.
  • CMMS/Work Order Management experience.
  • Education in Facilities Management, Corporate Real Estate, Project Management, or Business Administration.

Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), or Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management systems.
  • Ability to read and understand construction specifications and blueprints.
