Job Summary

Ideal candidates are analytical problem solvers with extensive knowledge of the care, operation, and overall repair and maintenance of the entire facility, grounds upkeep, and contracted services such as trash, elevator, boiler, HVAC, and window cleaning. Additionally, the facilities manager will be responsible for leading the team of technicians and maintenance personnel onsite. Previous supervisory experience is a requirement for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs and maintenance and ensures cleanliness of the entire facility
  • Manages contracts and contracted services that pertain to the maintenance of the facility and grounds
  • Oversees operation of mechanical and power equipment utilized in the maintenance of the facility
  • Captures exterior property cleaning and maintenance in accordance with company standards
  • Implements policies and procedures for the Building Maintenance and facilities Department, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Makes plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses
  • Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Assistant Maintenance technicians, cleaners and laundry facilities and housepersons. Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs for department
  • Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Conducts staff meetings with subordinates

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience (Degree preference in diesel mechanics, auto mechanics, or small engines)
  • Valid Driver’s License and other applicable mechanical/equipment licenses (Boiler, HVAC etc.)
