About the role
The Facilities Manager for the Office of the Vice President for Research oversees the strategic operation, maintenance, and long-term development of key research and animal resources facilities.
Responsibilities
- Drive facility excellence and forward-thinking capital planning
- Lead major renovation and construction projects
- Manage infrastructure systems, vendor partnerships, safety compliance, and budget planning
- Serve as the central force behind creating high-performing environments that advance innovation, research growth, and institutional success
Requirements
- High School/GED with seven years of prior successful work experience in building maintenance/construction organization or department
- Must be eligible for employment in areas governed by the U.S. Patriot Act and the Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002
- Must successfully complete a DOJ/FBI security risk assessment and background check
- Must enroll in the university's Occupational Health and Safety Program and Respiratory Protection Program
Qualifications

- Education may be used in lieu of experience

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Working knowledge of industry standards specific to construction, state, federal, and OSHA requirements
- Ability to multitask
- Able to work in cramped spaces, on ladders, and around animals
- Able to lift loads in excess of 75 pounds
- Able to work overhead and below waist level for long periods of time
Benefits
Salary range is $55,000 - $85,000. Employee must enroll in the university's Occupational Health and Safety Program and Respiratory Protection Program and receive medical clearance to wear/use respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Serving on-call at times, as needed.
