About the role
Tropicana Brands Group is a $3B startup formed in 2022 as a joint venture between PAI Partners and PepsiCo, managing iconic beverage brands like Tropicana, Naked, KeVita, Izze, Copella, and Punica. The Supply Chain function is critical to enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products. This role focuses on the upkeep, maintenance, and functionality of the Tropicana Jersey City Distribution facility, involving budget management, staff supervision, safety compliance, and coordination of services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-term capital plans for the facility and support chilled distribution facilities, including space allocation, renovation, and equipment upgrades to adhere to IIAR Refrigeration Standards.
- Develop and manage budgets for facility operations, maintenance, and capital projects, seeking cost-effective solutions and identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement capital improvements as Project Manager, initiating building projects, renovations, and refurbishments, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure building maintenance for systems such as Conyer systems, Cranes, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures for utility and refrigeration equipment to ensure compliance with IIAR, OSHA, and NJDEP standards and regulations.
- Serve as incident commander for emergency response and coordinate disaster response efforts.
- Manage blanket order service contracts with vendors for services including cleaning and landscaping, negotiating contracts, and overseeing performance.
- Ensure the facility meets all health, safety, and environmental regulations, conduct regular inspections, and implement safety procedures.
- Oversee the site Risk Management plan and compliance with the 14 program elements of Process Safety Management.
- Complete required Hazardous Assessments and file updates to environmental agencies.
- Manage and supervise the refrigeration and maintenance team.
- Provide training and development for shift engineers to ensure all team members meet skill and knowledge requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate activities within the facility to ensure smooth operation and efficient use of resources.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of practical experience with ammonia refrigeration handling, with a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with all local and state regulations relating to ammonia facilities.
- Full knowledge of TCPA, EPA, and OSHA regulatory requirements for Anhydrous Ammonia.
- Valid New Jersey Gold Seal Certification.
- Thorough familiarity with the ammonia refrigeration process, including equipment, standard operating procedures, effects of overexposure, safety and emergency steps, and the emergency response program.
- Training and familiarity with the proper use of all personnel protective equipment.
- Familiarity with Mechanical Inspection Bureau State regulations for ammonia facilities greater than 300 tons.
- Familiarity with Calarp ammonia requirements to support compliance for the Walnut Distribution facility.
- College degree in engineering highly desirable; minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be located in or near Jersey City, NJ, or willing to relocate for the duration of employment; onsite daily at the Tropicana facility.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $110,000–$160,000.
