Job Summary and Qualifications
The Manager, Facilities Management will be responsible for construction, renovation, and capital projects and oversee miscellaneous projects performed in-house or by outside contractors and ensure projects meet budget and all regulatory licensing, codes, and standards. You will be the primary facility contact for vendors and contractors for all facility projects, inclusive of proposals and project management, as well as leading the day-to-day activities until completion. You will work with the hospital’s Environment of Care (EOC) officer and supports facility quality improvement program initiatives. Support departmental and facility-wide compliance with all Life Safety and Environment of Care standards for The Joint Commission, State Department of Health, and CMS along with all other applicable regulatory or accrediting agency requirements pertaining to the facility. You will manage and monitor all aspects of quality assurance and improvements (preventive and scheduled) for buildings, grounds, and construction projects to ensure quality standards are met. Provide project management recommendations to supervisors in managing their respective areas. Collaboratively work with hospital leaders and departments to ensure projects are timely, meeting budget, and well communicated to teams and units.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in Engineering/Facilities or Construction Management leadership/supervisory position
- Preferred experience in hospital (or ambulatory healthcare) setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and technology, budget preparation, laws and regulations relative to safety management, project management and the ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Must be familiar with applicable facility codes, state requirements, The Joint Commission standards, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) criterion, and International Building Code regulations relating to healthcare facilities
- College degree in either Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management is preferred
- Previous experience in oversight of environment of care and TJC survey readiness
