Facilities Maintenance Technician - Puerto Rico Ferry (Ceiba)

About the role
The Maintenance Technician – Facilities performs repairs and maintenance tasks for the company’s facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role manages critical spares and consumable inventories, coordinates work requests, and collaborates with contractors and regulatory agencies to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Champion and actively participate in the company’s Safety Culture, prioritizing safety in all operations.
- Uphold the company’s RESPECT Values and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure reliability and efficiency in facility operations.
- Maximize guest and employee safety through enforcement of safety policies and guidelines.
- Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for hazardous materials.
- Report safety-related concerns and inspect facilities for environmental, safety, and health deficiencies.
- Oversee completion of maintenance and repair tasks by company personnel and outside contractors.
- Ensure training and drills align with company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Perform duties professionally, accurately, and enthusiastically.
- Develop positive working relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Adhere to the Employee Handbook and HELM operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to stay updated on regulatory requirements and changes.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
- Perform additional job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card) or ability to obtain and maintain it.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
- Proven ability to improve task efficiency and control costs.
- Strong judgment, analytical skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to high performance standards.
- Initiative to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
