Facilities & Maintenance Tech I (2 PM - 11 PM)

About the role
The Facilities & Maintenance Technician will report to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, providing tactical support for a variety of assigned tasks related to equipment preventative maintenance, distribution and material handling technology, facilities upkeep, property cleanliness, utility performance, hardware optimization, building security, key card entry interface, safety, and other company-wide processes. This role plays a major part in keeping all moving pieces in and around our building operating at reliable, safe, and effective levels. Additional opportunities include physical automation installations, facility expansions, safety compliance and improvements, waste elimination, and operational quality assurance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on, tactical work with minimal oversight.
- Define, document, and execute a preventative maintenance schedule for powered industrial trucks (PIT), distribution technology and automation, material handling equipment, building utilities, and other pneumatic or hydraulic items.
- Serve as the primary tactical resource for all types of hands-on tasks, including but not limited to assembly, disassembly, movement, organization, installation, and cleaning of anything falling into FCP Euro operational purview.
- Demonstrate knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, door hardware, racking, and anything warehouse maintenance related.
- Perform repairs throughout the facility, including painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
- Effectively communicate when work or changes are taking place to minimize disruption to office or distribution center staff.
- Serve as point of contact with facility vendors to address repairs and maintenance they cannot perform first, including HVAC, plumbing, security, entry system, electrical, trash compactors, and any other mechanical equipment.
- Independently monitor operations queue and disposition requests as they are submitted.
- Explore and implement technology improvements.
- Challenge and grow through feedback, development, supporting company and departmental goals, and exploring multiple solutions before presenting the best course of action.
- Interface with cross-functional team members to improve company-wide people, processes, and proficiencies.
- Support and drive facility-wide safety regulatory compliance.
- Actively research new technology to keep FCP Euro competitive by attending trade shows, webinars, and other educational events.
- Support introducing the company to new technologies and material handling solutions.
- Provide support in key decision-making alongside executive, leadership, and management teams.
- Document various processes to create redundancy and make decisions that deviate from process when it’s the best course of action.
- Consistently deliver a "WOW" factor above and beyond customer expectations.
Requirements
- Professional certification(s) or progress shown within electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or related areas.
- Associate degree or relevant experience preferred.
- Automotive or machine shop experience.
- Demonstrated ability to properly use machinery, tools, and equipment to diagnose and fix routine problems.
- Strong communication skills, able to effectively relay ticket status and translate information between employees and vendors, asking the right questions to identify and correct weaknesses.
- Ability to identify why processes or operations are not working as well as they should and offer root cause solutions.
- Possesses a strong observational ability, demonstrates cleanliness, neatness, “paints behind the cabinet” mentality.
- Can work around people while maintaining a positive, supportive demeanor.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Google Platforms (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive, etc.).
- Ability to control multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Able to work weekends and be on call when needed.

Pay
$24/hr + based on prior experience and qualifications. Quarterly bonus potential of $900.
