About the role

The Supervisor leads all aspects of and coordinates activities of the maintenance department working under the direction of the Director and/or Assistant Director. This role requires thorough knowledge of plant operations and maintenance methods, techniques, procedures, principles of engineering, applicable governmental codes and regulations, and operation and use of departmental equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and controls activities of the maintenance department to keep staff engaged in maintaining, repairing, and renovating facilities
  • Maintains flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of assigned workload and adherence to standards of quality control
  • Maintains adequate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies and initiates requisitions as needed
  • In the absence of the Director and Assistant Director, assumes full responsibilities of the department and shares weekend duties with other managers
  • Monitors and inspects employee work performance to assure performance standards are maintained through use of computer reports
  • Orients and trains new employees and provides continuing guidance and on-the-job training to all assigned personnel
  • Prepares performance evaluations for assigned personnel
  • Monitors and coordinates preventative maintenance and building and property repair and improvement projects performed by vendors and contractors; inspects completed work and approves payment requests
  • Serves as a member of the facility's fire response team

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare or related field
  • Knowledgeable in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
  • Previous experience with a computerized work order system highly preferred
  • Ability to meet the needs of the facility and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Pay

Salary: $100,000 to $110,000 per year. Other forms of compensation include a $1,000.00 supervisor bonus potential.
