Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise maintenance technicians and supervisors; build a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and development plans for maintenance personnel; set clear expectations, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Develop, implement, and sustain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all facility and production equipment; ensure CMMS work orders, PMs, and equipment histories are complete and accurate.
- Own reliability and uptime of critical assets, including injection molding machines, molds and tooling, metal fabrication equipment (press brakes, laser cutters, stamping presses, welders), wire harness assembly equipment (cut/strip, crimping, test), automation/robotics, and plant utilities (compressed air, chillers, cooling towers, electrical systems).
- Provide hands-on technical expertise to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; support production to resolve issues rapidly and reduce downtime.
- Lead structured root cause analysis for chronic failures using 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and FMEA; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot metal fabrication equipment (laser cutting systems, CNC press brakes, turret punches, welding equipment, stamping presses); ensure alignment, lubrication, and calibration.
- Maintain wire processing and harness assembly assets (automatic cut/strip, crimping presses, ultrasonic welders, test boards/electrical test equipment, cable overmolding equipment).
- Oversee facility and utility systems (electrical distribution, compressed air, HVAC, chilled/process water, cooling towers); ensure regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Drive CI initiatives to improve OEE, MTBF, and MTTR; support Lean Manufacturing and Industry 4.0/predictive technologies where applicable.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget; control spare parts and critical spares inventory; manage vendors and service contracts for repairs and upgrades.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA and company safety standards; lead LOTO compliance, machine safety programs, safety audits, and corrective actions; support ISO and corporate audit readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 8–12+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, including 5+ years leading maintenance teams.
- Demonstrated support of injection molding, metal fabrication, and wire harness manufacturing processes.
- Expert troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; PLC troubleshooting and familiarity with automation/robotics.
- Hands-on experience implementing and using CMMS; strong preventive/predictive maintenance discipline.
- Familiarity with injection molding equipment (vertical/horizontal), fabrication equipment, and wire processing/harness assembly equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; proven capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective people leadership, team development, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
