About the Role

The Facilities Maintenance Manager will ensure greenhouse and warehouse facilities are maintained to optimal operational conditions while meeting proper live-goods standards and observing employee safety. This role requires extensive horticultural and greenhouse facilities maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of greenhouse and warehouse facilities.
• Works with the General Manager to identify facility issues, future projects, and operational efficiencies.
• Assists in the development of future new construction facilities design and improvements.
• Sources parts and materials, in conjunction with purchasing, to complete all projects.
• Searches for competitive prices and terms on sourced materials for projects and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area for employees.

Requirements

• Experienced with greenhouse facilities, structures, and systems.
• Agriculture background preferred.
• General electrical, carpentry, plumbing, building construction, and maintenance experience.
• Experience with heating systems, including installation, service, and repair of boilers and heaters.
• Detail-oriented with availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines when necessary.

Safety & Quality Standards

• All safety provisions and procedures must be followed at all times, including wearing proper PPE such as gloves, closed-toe shoes, safety glasses, or chemical-resistant aprons/suits.
• Participating or leading accident investigations, including 5-Why root cause analysis.
• Participating in safety meetings.

Position Required PPE

• Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots).
• A back safety belt is required when lifting more than 25+ lbs.
• Gloves—as required.
• Eye protection—as required.
• Approved safety cutter.
• Appropriate clothing, following the company’s dress code.
