Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
- Oversee and implement all capital improvement projects of the company.
- Conduct performance evaluations for all direct reports.
- Coach employees and make recommendations to the VP of Operations for discipline and termination of employees per company policy.
- Lead, manage, and hold employees accountable.
- Coordinate, supervise, and perform repairs and maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain the work order system ensuring that work orders are prioritized, well documented, and followed through.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment and trucks, and batch plant to minimize downtime and damage to equipment.
- Maintain an active date record of all maintenance performed on equipment.
- Inspect and maintain the buildings and grounds at Gainey's.
- Assure that the maintenance area is presentable, and everything is in good working order by focusing on housekeeping and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain supplies and tools ensuring that expenses are in line with the company budget.
- Consistently observe, practice, and enforce the safe use of equipment and wearing PPE.
- Conduct daily scheduling meetings with the maintenance supervisor to update work orders and assign work orders for the next shift.
- Inspect work of technicians.
- Plan, budget, and oversee capital and other special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience a MUST.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Vendor relations/contract obligations.
- Diesel mechanic skills.
- Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting.
- Basic welding and fabrication.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills—email, Excel.
- Manage major capital improvement projects.
- Customer service and team-oriented.
- Bilingual—helpful.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
