Facilities Field Technician

Chipotle is changing the face of fast food by supporting efforts to shift the future of farming and food. The Facilities Specialist maintains restaurants through preventative maintenance on all aspects of the restaurant, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective operation of facilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level in support of the Facilities Manager
• Perform facility maintenance and repair through monthly site visits and analysis of restaurants
• Formulate preventative maintenance schedules for restaurant facilities, including cooking equipment, HVAC systems, sinks, plumbing, electrical circuits, and refrigeration units
• Carry out set procedures in the event facilities cease functioning, function improperly, or present a health or safety threat
• Train managers, crew, and staff on facility management, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair; assess individual training needs
• Ensure managers, crew, and staff follow facility maintenance practices and procedures
• Conduct detailed facility maintenance and repair seminars individually or in groups
• Provide comprehensive maintenance visit recaps to the Operations Team and Regional Facility Manager detailing restaurant strengths and areas of opportunity
• Identify issues contributing to higher maintenance/repair or capital reinvestment costs and communicate them to the Regional Facilities Manager, Field Controller, and Operations Team
• Guide restaurants on maintaining and updating facility records
• Perform equipment and building repairs regularly and during emergencies or scheduled site visits
• Conduct new store turnover, 90-day, and one-year walks/punches with contractors and Operations Team for new restaurants
• Serve as liaison between restaurants, landlords, contractors, and vendors for facility repairs
• Assist Operations Team to investigate, analyze, and determine whether to escalate facilities issues to the Regional Facilities Manager
• Represent facilities at operations management meetings and communicate information to the Apprentice Facilities Manager and Regional Facilities Manager
• Provide field support and communication to the Development Department regarding Wynkoop and regional/market initiatives and needs
• Assist with communicating contractor deficiencies on reinvestment or repair projects and follow Development Department guidelines

Requirements

• Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration
• Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules while planning work to achieve timely results
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report and responsible for safe driving requirements
• B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience with two (2) years formal or informal training in facility repair and maintenance
• Experience with restaurant equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or appliance repair preferred

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $21.15–$26.93 per hour. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based on performance and other factors. Actual compensation may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
