About the role
As a Facilities Field Technician at Chipotle, you will maintain restaurants through preventative maintenance on all aspects of the restaurant, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Facilities Manager by supervising facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level.
- Perform facility maintenance and repair through monthly site visits and analysis of restaurants.
- Formulate preventative maintenance schedules for cooking equipment, HVAC systems, sinks, plumbing, electrical circuits, and refrigeration units.
- Carry out set procedures for facilities that cease functioning, function improperly, or present health and safety threats.
- Train managers, crew, and staff on managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing restaurant facilities; assess needs for additional training.
- Ensure consistent adherence to facility maintenance practices and procedures.
- Conduct detailed facility maintenance and repair seminars individually or in group settings.
- Provide comprehensive maintenance visit recaps to the Operations Team and Regional Facility Manager, highlighting strengths and areas of opportunity.
- Identify issues contributing to higher maintenance and repair (M & R) or capital reinvestment costs and communicate them to relevant teams.
- Guide restaurants on maintaining and updating facility records.
- Perform equipment and building repairs regularly, including emergencies and scheduled visits.
- Conduct new store turnover, 90-day, and one-year walks/punches with contractors and the Operations Team for all new restaurants.
- Serve as a liaison between restaurants, landlords, contractors, and vendors for facility repairs.
- Assist the Operations Team in investigating, analyzing, and escalating facilities issues to the Regional Facilities Manager.
- Represent facilities at operations management meetings and communicate updates to the Apprentice Facilities Manager and Regional Facilities Manager.
- Provide field support and communication to the Development Department for regional/market initiatives and needs.
- Assist with communicating contractor deficiencies on reinvestment or repair projects.
- Follow all Development Department guidelines.
- Complete other duties to advance projects or resolve business issues as needed.
Requirements
- Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules while planning work to achieve timely results.
- Effective, clear, and patient communication and training skills for facility maintenance and repair concepts.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for travel between restaurants.
- Adherence to safe driving requirements as determined by law.
Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience with two (2) years of formal or informal training in facility repair and maintenance.
- Experience with restaurant equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or appliance repair preferred.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $23.55–$30.05 per hour. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based on performance and other factors.
