About the role
The recruitment is for one Electrician vacancy in the Facilities Management Department at either the Technician I or Technician II level. This recruitment also establishes an eligible list to fill all possible future Electrician assignment vacancies at either level.
Responsibilities
- A Facilities Equipment Technician I primarily performs skilled electrical work in City buildings. They perform a wide variety of skilled tasks in electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Work assignments are varied and may be received verbally or in writing. They exercise lead supervision over semiskilled and unskilled workers.
- A Facilities Equipment Technician II is responsible for performing skilled electrical work in City buildings. They perform a wide variety of skilled tasks in electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. They also independently plan and complete large maintenance projects, including developing a scope of work, obtaining proposals, securing funding, awarding the project, following through to a successful completion, and documenting. They may also act as a lead worker for Facilities Equipment Technician I or Trades Workers on various projects.
Requirements
- Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to successful completion of an electrical trades apprenticeship program (must provide written certification).
- Considerable (3 - 5 years) commercial, journey-level electrical experience.
- Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver's License by hire or promotion date.
- Must possess an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) refrigeration certification card (by assignment).
Qualifications
- Facilities Equipment Technician I - Electrical: Good (1 - 3 years) experience working with computers and Energy Management Systems are highly desirable.
- Facilities Equipment Technician II - Electrical: Considerable experience with Computer Managed Maintenance System (CMMS) software and energy management systems.
