As a Facilities Engineering Manager – Level 2 at Promontory, UT, you will lead an engineering group to meet plant requirements for safety and quality, as well as program requirements for cost and schedule. This position supports mission-critical efforts for national and global security.
This role operates on a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering group to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Manage large fabrication and construction-related projects.
- Recruit and manage a team of engineers across programs.
- Resolve complex technical issues involving product and processing equipment through cross-functional leadership.
- Apply sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of solid rocket motor manufacturing and processing.
- Oversee high-hazard and inert processes with in-depth expertise.
- Utilize configuration management and CAD systems (AutoCAD preferred).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- 3–6 years of managerial, lead, or supervisory experience.
- Experience managing a team of engineers across disciplines.
- Proven problem-solving skills and leadership in resolving complex technical issues.
- Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes.
- Experience with propellants/explosives.
- In-depth knowledge of high-hazard and inert processes.
- Knowledge of configuration management.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD preferred).
- Strong Facilities Engineering background.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in MS software, including Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of EPLM, Maximo, Costpoint, and Cognos.
- Understanding of hazardous location requirements and standards.
- Experience communicating with stakeholders to determine project scope, schedule, and requirements.
- Project management skills, including creating and reviewing initial project estimates.
- Ability to develop standards and best practices.
- Experience monitoring and aligning team members to meet schedule priorities.
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.

Pay
Primary level salary range: $139,200.00 – $208,700.00. Base salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives.
