Responsibilities
- Own the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, process gasses, waste management, fire protection, and building infrastructure.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to maximize facility uptime and safety.
- Lead facility improvement, expansion, and capital projects from planning through execution.
- Manage contractors, service providers, and facility vendors, including scope development, bidding, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and building regulations.
- Partner with engineering and production teams to define facility and utility requirements for new equipment and production processes.
- Plan and coordinate facility readiness activities for equipment installations, factory expansions, and manufacturing growth.
- Maintain facility performance, utility consumption, and operating costs, identifying opportunities for improved reliability and efficiency.
- Support long-term facility infrastructure planning to meet future manufacturing and business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience managing facilities in a manufacturing, industrial, semiconductor, or medical device environment.
- Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, compressed air, and industrial utilities.
- Experience managing contractors, service providers, and capital projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment specifications, utility layouts, and construction documents.
- Ability to develop project scopes, manage budgets, and execute projects on schedule.
- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment installations and facility infrastructure planning.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, and external vendor teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting metal manufacturing, laboratory, additive manufacturing, semiconductor, medical device, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local building code requirements.
- At least one of the following MA professional licenses (CSL, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC).
- Experience with CMMS and facility management software systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience with energy management, sustainability initiatives, and facility optimization programs.
