Job Overview
The Facilities Engineer position is available at Stark Pharma Solutions Inc., working with a client in Springfield, IL. The role is long-term and focuses on maintaining, optimizing, and improving facility infrastructure and critical utility systems while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize facility infrastructure, utility systems, and building operations to ensure reliable manufacturing support.
- Support HVAC systems, clean utilities, water systems, compressed air systems, and other critical facility equipment.
- Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize operational downtime.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Maintenance, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and Engineering teams to support production objectives.
- Monitor facility performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and energy utilization.
- Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain engineering documentation, maintenance records, SOPs, and equipment history in accordance with company quality systems.
- Support internal audits and regulatory inspections while ensuring compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve facility performance, safety, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of Facilities Engineering experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting HVAC systems, clean utilities, water systems, compressed air systems, facility infrastructure, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, troubleshooting, and facility improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), maintenance planning, and engineering documentation.
- Experience with reliability engineering, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is preferred.
- Knowledge of facility validation, engineering change management, energy management, and utility optimization is an added advantage.
- Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device manufacturing facilities is highly preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or other relevant engineering certifications are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, technical documentation, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
