Facilities Construction Manager

About the role

JMT is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee construction projects in North Texas, with the initial assignment expected within 50 miles of Fort Worth, TX. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity; remote or hybrid work is not available. Immigration sponsorship or support is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site construction management, inspection, and reporting on building construction projects
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, building occupants, architects/engineers, and contractors
  • Manage and coordinate inspection staff
  • Oversee project schedule from inception to close out
  • Run project job-site meetings
  • Review contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Report on project issues and provide status updates
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Construction Management Representative, Owner’s Representative, Construction Project Manager, or Superintendent
  • Experience with construction and renovation projects, including building system repair and restoration, involving active management, oversight, and/or inspection of multiple construction trades and close coordination with Government/Owners on construction issues
  • Knowledge and experience working with Government and Municipal Engineers/Project Managers/CORs on project costs and budgets, processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, and field observation reports
  • Experience using SharePoint, Procore, BIM360, HoloBuilder, and other construction management software to communicate construction progress and process documentation
  • Experience reviewing engineering designs, contractor shop drawings, and/or vendor specifications to determine constructability and adherence to established standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills for managing and mentoring field staff
  • Ability to take charge and manage contractors to meet project schedules
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with a 10HR OSHA Safety card
  • Ability to work well with others and willingness to learn in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety training
  • Experience on large Federal and/or municipal construction projects
  • Certifications from CMAA (CCM), PMP, PE, or EIT

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment, with approximately 10% office time and 90% field time. Field work requires climbing, walking, and standing at construction sites, often in varying weather conditions (heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid). Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required. Travel is necessary for this field-based role, which is full-time on-site with occasional office meetings between project assignments.
