Facilities - Commercial Kitchen Technician

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Read approved plans/blueprints and specifications to determine and execute most efficient and effective method for the installation and repair of equipment.
• Utilizing accepted principles and practices make repairs as required to mechanical systems and kitchen equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on existing equipment to minimize possibility of system shut downs.
• Recognize, evaluate and correct safety hazards and advise immediate supervisor of the problem.
• Respond to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency call for service.
• Maintenance on the following commercial equipment: chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and emergency generators.
• Complete building walk-throughs and system installation commissioning of work performed by outside contractors.
• Performs various building inspection functions.
• Afford assistance in other areas within the department when needed.

Class E Only

• Perform refrigeration work without limitation to horsepower capacity.

Service Technician Only

• Service Technician Only: Troubleshooting and repairing all kitchen equipment.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
