ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, painting, and general upkeep
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly facility checklists across assigned locations
- Auxiliary preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and infrastructure
- Identify and escalate larger repair needs to supervisor or approved vendors
- Complete assigned work orders and maintenance tickets accurately and in a timely manner
Safety and Compliance
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, FDA, AABB, and internal safety standards as applicable to blood banking operations
- Ensure workspaces remain clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Support emergency preparedness efforts including generator checks, safety drills, and response readiness
- Properly handle and dispose of waste, including regulated and biohazard materials in coordination with appropriate departments
Vendor and Inventory Support
- Assist with coordinating external vendors for repairs, maintenance, and inspections
- Track facility supplies, tools, and equipment inventory and notify supervisor of needs
- Support delivery, setup, and breakdown of equipment and supplies
Mobile and Site Support
- Assist with setup and breakdown of mobile blood drives as needed
- Ensure all donor centers and mobile units are operationally ready, including furniture, equipment, and cleanliness
- Respond to facility-related service requests across multiple locations in a timely manner
General Support
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work orders
- Support facility projects, renovations, and upgrades as assigned
- Provide general support across departments to ensure operational continuity
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational success

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of hands for tools and equipment
- Environmental Requirements: Work is performed across multiple locations including donor centers, mobile units, administrative offices, and temporary blood drive sites, regional travel required to support fixed site centers and mobile operations as needed, ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, must be able to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a related field preferred, experience in healthcare, laboratory, or regulated environments preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, familiarity with tools, equipment, and general maintenance practices, understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance expectations, strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, ability to work independently and respond to facility needs in a timely manner, strong attention to detail with consistent follow-through, ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors
- Additional Requirements: Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential to this role, must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, must maintain active automobile insurance in accordance with state requirements, must have reliable transportation to travel between SunCoast Blood Centers locations and mobile sites
