Facilities Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

New Garden Friends School is seeking a Facilities Assistant to provide grounds and maintenance assistance to the Director of Facilities at both campus locations. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Complete grounds work such as picking up trash and debris, operating a leaf blower, clearing pathways and sidewalks of leaves and tree limbs, and assisting with landscaping tasks.
• Safely use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Complete Mojo Ticket Work Orders assigned.
• Support and assist with building maintenance tasks such as tile and carpet cleaning.
• Aid in repair work needed to buildings and/or equipment.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the Director of Facilities and/or school administrators.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community including Quaker values.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers and Google Workspace.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree in a trade or mechanical discipline preferred.
• A motivated individual who takes pride in their work and professional relationships with community members.
