Facilities & Engineering Team

The Facilities team ensures all THG sites are clean, safe environments. The Facilities and Engineering Manager, reporting to the Site Manager, manages fixed assets and implements engineering strategies. This role involves promoting safety, managing budgets, overseeing capital projects, and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Promote health & safety awareness, ensuring compliance with THG policies and safe working systems
  • Maintain all statutory and regulatory compliance for the site
  • Deliver PPM safely, on time, within budget, and to required standards
  • Create and manage engineering (capex/opex) budgets with accurate forecasting and finance alignment
  • Lead capital projects, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery
  • Ensure optimal performance and availability of M&E equipment; meet SLAs/KPIs and respond to outages
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs (e.g. RCM, CBM, FMEA)
  • Ensure adequate resources, staffing, shift planning, and spare parts management
  • Manage third-party contractors effectively
  • Represent engineering in site/group forums and produce performance reports
  • Manage team performance, recruitment, and development (including apprentices/graduates)
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, BRC, ISO, and waste management standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years site Engineering, Facilities Management and leadership experience
  • Excellent communication skills, able to challenge positively and promote collaboration
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving techniques
  • Autonomy and self-drive to deliver and succeed
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation, prioritised in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience of PPM strategy, improvement techniques and tools, Lean and TPM awareness
