Facilities Analyst

About the role

As a Facilities Analyst with the Department of Industrial Relations’ (DIR) Facilities Branch, you’ll provide facility planning and management services for over 40 DIR statewide offices and assist with general maintenance services for over 450,000 leased square feet. You will manage multiple facilities-related projects ranging from minor tenant improvements such as repainting and installation of new floor coverings to space planning for office moves and new construction. You will manage a portfolio of leased sites for the Department and work independently in a hybrid telework environment, while also collaborating with the Facilities team on large-scale projects. Occasional travel to DIR offices and construction sites statewide is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide facility planning and management services for over 40 DIR statewide offices.
• Assist with general maintenance services for over 450,000 leased square feet.
• Manage facilities-related projects, including minor tenant improvements (e.g., repainting, new floor coverings) and space planning for office moves or new construction.
• Manage a portfolio of leased sites for the Department.
• Work collaboratively with the Facilities team on large-scale projects.
• Travel occasionally to DIR offices and construction sites statewide.
• Engage with DIR stakeholders, including workers’ compensation, labor enforcement, and Cal/OSHA teams.

Requirements

• To be considered for this Analyst II position, applicants must be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility.
• Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification.

Working Conditions

• Position is located at 1515 Clay Street, Suite 301, Oakland, CA 94612.
• Works 40 hours per week in an office setting (air-conditioned, high-rise building with elevator access and cubicle workspace).
• Hybrid work schedule in accordance with DIR’s telework policy.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods while using a computer and telephone.
• Some travel required to DIR offices and construction sites statewide.
• May be required to push and pull items and work at sites that may not be climate-controlled.
