About the Role

This position is based at our Aviation Component Service Center (ACSC) facility, which develops and conducts a wide array of engine component repairs—including rotating parts, complex assemblies, and nozzles—on 29 different engine models.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of production-related manufacturing functions: open shop orders, issue related repair routers, and ensure determined work scope complies with customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain primary responsibility for dispatching, tracking, and related production control activities for individual or multiple product lines or special projects.
  • Perform initial evaluation on hardware to determine obvious scrap; use electronic tracking systems.
  • Assure a continuous flow of both regular and development hardware through various workstations/processes to meet scheduled commitments.
  • Attend and participate in line of balance meetings.
  • Ensure correct material paperwork and parts are available for further processing.
  • Contact vendors (internal GE as well as outside vendors), purchasing organization, and traffic to dispatch work to and from outside locations while maintaining appropriate paperwork.
  • Ensure lab samples are provided for all requisite processes.
  • Integrate necessary changes into the production control system and communicate those changes to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform packing, shipping, and/or receiving duties.
  • Maintain related paperwork, records, logs (e.g., shipping documents, stock delivery receipts, incoming and shipping records, DDM logs, scrap logs, PPRs).
  • Translate inventories into appropriate priority lists, furnace schedules, chem room schedules, forecasts, and line-of-balance (L.O.B.) documents.
  • Instruct and train others as necessary.
  • Maintain production boards as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 1+ year of experience handling multiple tasks at once.
  • 1+ year of experience with basic computer use, applications, and keyboarding (e.g., email, Microsoft Excel).
  • 1+ year of experience self-directing daily work orders with minimum supervision.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining due to high-risk or hazardous operations and potential shift work beyond a standard workweek.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on occasion; items over 40 pounds will require assistance.
  • Ability to physically handle, pack, and maneuver weight designated to OSHA standards on a sustained basis.
  • Operate material handling and lifting devices, including obtaining a forklift license as required.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
  • Must provide proof of a valid Driver’s License for roles requiring use of company vehicles; may require completion of a DOT Physical.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment and wear appropriate safety gear (e.g., eye protection, safety shoes) for extended periods.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; employment is contingent upon proving U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee, or refugee).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with export knowledge of commercial invoices.
  • Knowledge of creating shop orders (OSB preferred).
  • Willingness to work with chemical materials.
  • Knowledge of OSB, MRO, SFC System, Router Gen System, Manifest System, and Maximo.
  • Experience ordering and maintaining supplies of direct and/or indirect materials.
  • Previous inventory, scheduling, or related experience.
  • Proficient in shop math, including fractions and decimals.
  • 1 year of experience packing and shipping hardware, including preparing items for shipment (labeling, documentation, packaging) to support safe and on-time delivery.
  • 1 year of experience in inventory control, material procurement, sourcing, materials forecasting, and cost analysis/costing support, partnering cross-functionally to ensure on-time material availability and cost-effective supply continuity.

Pay

$32.75 per hour plus a 10% differential for 2nd or 3rd shift.
