About the role
The Activities Assistant (FACETS® Assistant) is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident experience through the provision of exceptional implementation of the FACETS® program. The FACETS® program focuses on the five dimensions of well-being: socialization, health and wellness, lifelong learning, legacy, and spirituality. This approach includes a rich variety of activities such as theater, art, music, fitness, education, event planning, and recreation.
Responsibilities
- Enhance the Resident experience through the provision of exceptional implementation of the FACETS® program.
- Model The Sterling Touch® friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner in all interactions.
- Participate in the execution of a well-rounded, refined program that meets the needs and expectations of our residents.
- Be willing and able to participate in various activities including theater, art, music, fitness, education, event planning, and recreation.
- Communicate effectively with residents and other employees using the English language.
- Lift or carry up to 20 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, crouching, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One or more years’ experience in planning, coordinating, or leading activities and events (preferred).
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language in order to communicate with residents and other employees.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds.

Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to plan and execute activities.
- Knowledge of the FACETS® program and its five dimensions of well-being.
