About the role
A_ Fabricator II_ at White Cap… Examines specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements. Fabricates work pieces as determined by work order specifications. May oversee work of junior associates. Retrieves correct materials and performs various fabrication duties. Examine work pieces visually, by touch, or by using a tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards. Package items for shipping. Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding or strapping to ensure shipped materials do not shift or become damaged during transport. Follows company safety policy and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Generally has 5-7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and fabrication specifications.
- Proficiency using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify product quality.
- Experience with fabrication equipment and hand tools in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of construction, industrial, or building material products and their applications.
- Knowledgeable about safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality standards, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, or provide guidance to less experienced associates.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is a plus.
