About the role
As a Fabrication Technician, you will perform wafer fabrication functions in the production of semiconductor devices. Operate equipment for alignment, masking, etch deposition, testing, and diffusion. Manage workflows to optimize equipment output performance. This position resides on the A-shift (Day shift).
Responsibilities
- Perform wafer fabrication functions in the production of semiconductor devices.
- Operate equipment for alignment, masking, etch, and diffusion. In senior and highly skilled levels, perform equipment set-up, calibration, and routine preventative maintenance tasks.
- Follow work instructions and documented procedures to complete wafer fabrication.
- Operate equipment to perform various stages of the wafer fabrication process.
- Perform measurements and analysis of critical parameters, recording data accurately.
- Adhere to cleanroom protocol and work practices, including wearing PPE for extended periods.
- Maintain proper documentation and records.
- Move materials or finished goods, involving pushing, pulling, or lifting (up to 20 pounds), bending, and reaching.
- Visually inspect and recognize quality defects.
- Handle fragile GaAs wafers and precious metals, such as gold and platinum.
- Mix wet chemistries.
- Collect and log data into computer-based applications.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Basic mathematical computations and writing tasks.
- Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing, active listening, and following instructions.
- Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination to manipulate components of various sizes.
- Ability to understand directions and adhere to established procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Lift, handle, and reach to use tools such as pliers, large tweezers, and hand-held scanners.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills, including MS Office Suite.
- Dependable team player.
Skills
- Prior semiconductor manufacturing experience, with knowledge of overall Wafer FAB operational proficiency (process, tools, flows).
- Knowledge of cleanroom practices and protocols.
- Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues.
