Fabrication Technician

About the role

The Fabrication Technician position involves fabricating skids and maintaining rental boilers and related accessories. Responsibilities include pressure vessel repairs, general boiler maintenance, welding, pipe fitting, and skid buildout processes. The technician must also keep the scheduler informed of daily work progress and maintain clean and organized work areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform pressure vessel repairs and general boiler maintenance
• Weld and pipe fit as needed
• Build out skid projects
• Install and replace gaskets
• Perform refractory repairs
• Read and modify mechanical drawings
• Inspect and clean boilers
• Evaluate boiler room systems
• Complete work orders and related paperwork
• Provide ASME boiler code application support as needed
• Work extended hours including nights and weekends as needed

Requirements

• Welding certification in the 6G position
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver's license with no major infractions
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Computer skills are a plus
• One year of related industry experience

Qualifications

Must be willing to attend trainings for boiler pressure vessel welders as the schedule permits. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere. Must be detail-oriented and have strong reasoning and problem-solving skills. Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and perform modifications based on these drawings. Must have strong language skills and industry-specific vocabulary.
