Fabrication Helper

Position Summary: This versatile position is responsible for safely and efficiently assisting all positions in the fabrication shop. Tasks include moving and positioning material using overhead cranes and forklifts, deburring, grinding, part cleaning, assisting on machines, loading/unloading the paint system, and related duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move and position material.
• Deburr and grind components.
• Clean parts and assist with machine operations.
• Load and unload the paint system.
• Support various shop functions as needed.

Requirements

• Technical education or completion of a short training period at TTX.
• Ability to add and subtract fractions.
• Capability to operate simple machines and power equipment.
• Knowledge or skill in at least one of the following areas:
  • Painting
  • Punching with power equipment
  • Oven panel assembly and spot welding
  • Use of a plasma cutter
  • Operating a power band saw to cut steel
  • Plumbing and pipefitting
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring (a plus).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% annually.
